The list services
are for the collective benefit of the GCRC National Program. They serve
as a bedrock of communications for the professional groups that comprise
the program. The primary services were designed to foster increased communications
within each of the primary positions. There are national lists for each
of the primary positions, as well as regional lists for the bionutritionists
and nurse managers. These primary positions include the Program Director,
Adminstrative Manager, Informatics Core Personnel, Research Nutritionists,
Nurse Managers, Statisticians, Core Lab Personnel, Research Subject Advocates,
and K-23 (formerly Clinical Associate Physicians). There were additional
lists for a wide variety of special needs. Currently there are about 35
lists.
The University of North Carolina established the list servers in 1993
and maintain the subscribers for each of the lists. The lists are used
to populate a web page that facilitates looking up the names and positions
of the personnel at the centers across the country. Send email to gcrc-agsm-secy@med.unc.edu
to make additions, deletions, or corrections. The current software will
allow you to "unsubscribe", but that would leave a hole in the
information pipeline that sometimes takes a long time to get corrected.
While positions are vacant, it is good practice to have messages forwarded
to someone else in the center until the position is filled.
The current software allows you to read and search messages via the web.
Go to http://listserv.med.unc.edu. Enter your email address and password
if you have one otherwise leave it blank. Click read messages to read
other wise fill in the search criteria to find particular messages. The
archives are maintained for 90 days.
While you are in the web interface, you can also set your password, send
messages, and change your settings.
To find out which lists you are on send email to listserv@listserv.med.unc.edu
in the body of the message put only the word which.
For other questions in regard to the list server, please send email to
gcrc-sys-mgr@med.unc.edu.
